Killzone 3 – multiplayer impressions

My first videogame impressions in quite a long time! Sorry guys I’ve been really busy with uni exams heading right towards me >.<”

Back stabbing has never been so fun.

If you’ve owned a PS3 and love the fps genre, Killzone 2 should have definitely been in your library. With its engaging team-focussed multiplayer, gritty environments and awesome graphics, it had many players hooked, with many convincing themselves that it was a “Halo killer” (somewhat realistically in vain).

Yozakura Quartet – Hoshi no Umi OVA: impressions

Yozakura Quartet gets the moeblob treatment.

Fans of the Yozakura Quartet manga enjoy it for its humour, great art style and interesting concept. This is why the proper anime series based of the manga which aired in 2008 was significantly less well-received as it didn’t completely incorporate Suzuhito’s art, and it deviated, omitting much of what made the manga so cool.

Yae-chan is happy.

Psychic Detective Yakumo – initial impressions

“There is no coincidence in Buddha’s design, only inevitability…”

What lovely ghosts.

If there’s a genre that never ceases to entertain me, it’s definitely the crime and detective-story type. On the outset, Psychic Detective Yakumo appears to involve both with a dash of the supernatural. However, after a few episodes, I wouldn’t really consider this true crime-fiction, but rather a solid character study with very strong detective-story elements.

I’m pretty damn sure Star Driver made a big impression on the show’s viewers with its outrageously fabulous and extravagant mecha designs. Casting that aside, Star Driver has got a semi-intriguing story to go along with it, combined with some really nice animation.

The World God Only Knows – initial impressions

Yay, another harem series… but it’s not all doom and gloom, as World (as henceforth I shall abbreviate the title) shows great promise and bodes some decent fun for the future! If only the million other harem shows out there showed some of the same humour and inspiration as World.

Demotivator of the week #38

Geh exams and a rather huge week for me coming up. Anyway this week’s demotivator is based on the anime Star Driver which recently started airing. Don’t get me wrong, I actually really enjoyed this first ep. It’s wonderfully over-the-top in some places, and not afraid to be so. However, my god that mecha was hard to watch with a straight face 😛
