Demotivator of the week
So many captions could’ve gone with that photo. However, I ended up choosing the above đ Infinite Stratos is so generic it’s painful to watch >_<“
Anyway enjoy your weekend everyone!

Dragon Crisis – hiding lost treasure, or should this go up in flames?
“I love, love, love…………………….[repeat multiple times]…………………….. love you!”
The thing I find with Dragon Crisis is that it’s pretty unremarkable bar the fact that it has a some noteable names in the seiyuu industry. It’s not that I find it bad. I just see no reason why I should be watching this >_>
Fractale – a shattered illusion of an ultimate paradise?
“Nessa hates Hate, and Nessa loves Love!”
The world of Fractale is definitely the most interesting universe that has appeared this season. The setting is unique and the background art is beautiful to say the least. (more…)
Kore wa zombie desuka? – is it brain-dead or will it make you die laughing?
“That’s not a kick!!!!”
Let me put it straight to you first: I’m not really a fan of moe fanservice rom-coms. I feel this genre receives too much of an audience and too much interest in the anime scene. As a result, what I’m saying about Zombie is faaaaaaiiiiirly subjective. (more…)
Gosick – elementary, my dear Kujo
“Ho ho ho…”
Imagine Aisaka Taiga and Sherlock Holmes. That’s essentially what Victorique de Blois is, the gothic-costumed loli detective star of this show. Gosick is showing itself to be relatively solid entertainment, but I would hardly classify this as a must-watch of the season. (more…)
Level E – Close encounters of the extraterrestial kind
“A fluid-like organism from the planet Jacqueline S. It’s name is Clive… Don’t you also think it’s hideous?”
Out of all the series shown so far, I have found Level E the funniest and most interesting. It’s got a great concept and has a really engaging and realistic cast (well as far as anime goes).
Plot summary from AniDB: “In the present day, hundreds of extraterrestrial species walk the Earth. Some are pacifistic, others violent. Some are here for research purposes, others are career criminals. However, humans don’t know they are here.
Now, one more alien has arrived on Earth. One of the universe’s foremost geniuses with a personality that’s bound to attract all sorts of trouble.”
It’s fantastic to see a series that doesn’t base its jokes on fanservice like those dime-a-dozen Xebec productions. I found Level E fresh to watch and just genuinely funny. The icing on the cake has to be Prince Baka Ki El Dogra’s over-the-top puppet act, compared to his usual deadpan tone-of-voice.
At the same time the show can prove to be rather serious as well, most noticeably at the end of the episode where we’re left watching the Prince’s true form: some twisted insectoid creature that screams like a housewife attending an Oprah show. Oh, and that reference to ET was classic.Just goes to show the potential Level E has. It can go anywhere.
I have little else to say. Watch Level E if you generally enjoy sarcastic humour and comic timing.
OP: best OP this season. Nice catchy tune and some great comic book-inspired ideas
ED: not as great, but pretty decent I guess.
Demotivator of the week
Been a bit busy, so I haven’t posted up my Level E impressions up yet. They will come soon though, so hang in there!
Hope everyone had a good week, and has an even better weekend.

Yumekui Merry – sweet nightmares~
“I offer my respect to a pioneer of the Real World. There is only one way for us, who have no real bodies, to go there. You too have found a vessel, have you not…”
I found Yumekui Merry to be one of the more interesting show aired in the past week. The concept is intriguing to say the least, and while it does have some clichĂ©s, it’s not bogged down by them like Infinite Stratos.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica – Shaft weaves its magic Maho Shoujo style
“It’s over when you give up. But you can change your destiny…”
Shaft proves that it can still rock even with its often unorthodox visual take on the mahou shoujo genre. Puella Magi Madoka Magica has good potential and definitely shouldn’t be judged by its cutesy and innocent cover.
IS: Infinite Stratos – Infinite Stereotypes
“With a first day like this, I can already see my future cast over my unlucky stars…”
Well here’s one to watch for the visuals. Infinite Stratos looks pretty good from the outset, with hints of some rather flashy fight scenes, but will definitely be marred by its ridiculous clichĂ©s. Definitely a winner for those who just want the sweet delicious cream without the cake. (more…)
