Katanagatari – 06

Stupid omniscient oba-san. I mean seriously, W T F man!

Holy crap it's a munchkin!

Katanagatari has always been a big troll, from the unusual chemistry between Shichika and Togame, and the ridiculous amounts of dialogue. However the end of episode 6 probably left most viewers with their mouths wide enough to fit an orange inside.

Raeg qwit?

Apart from the unnecessary spoiler at the end (stop watching when you see the shifty masked dude), the episode was pretty ok. I mean, we got to see ALL the remaining Maniwa ninja corps in all their eccentricity. Katanagatari knows where to pull out its guns when it comes to the shock factor, and when Phoenix nonchalantly sliced Otter the Investigator, my reaction was akin to Togame and Shichika’s. Seriously, w t f.

Incomprehensible. That is all.

We also, for the first time, got to see Shichika actually being defeated (by what we’d call n00b’s luck). Turns out our hero isn’t so invincible after all. The following chemistry between the Strategian and her Sword was really nicely fleshed out in this episode too.

Togame teaches us how NOT to spike up your hair each morning.

It’s going to be interesting to see where Katanagatari goes from here, especially since we know the eventual result of next month’s episode. Especially with the proper introduction of the Maniwa corps, who knows where Togame and Shichika will end up.

Pretty sure that's Nanami.

Konayuki was too adorable. I’m glad she didn’t die, but I want to see more of Pengin also. It’s something to do with the eyes or something, so mesmerizing.

I’m going to hate next month with the death of Nanami… oh noes flashbacks of Xingke.
