Ippius’s pick of the next season part 1

1. Angel Beats!

Crap name. At least there are guns.

Summary: In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers. [ANN]

What’s hot: Key’s animating, so we can expect some pretty awesome visuals. The concept is also a little weird, but at least it sounds entertaining.

What’s not: The 3 main characters look like 3 of the main characters from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and after Endless Eight, I want to see as little as possible of those 3.

2. Iron Man

Ooooo shiiiiny

Summary: Marvel gave Madhouse the liberty of interpreting the Ironman story anyway they liked. The result is a 12-episode season featuring our favourite bachelor Tony Stark and his suit, a space pirate, and a green-haired lady. Awesome.

What’s hot: Animation looks great in the trailer. The Ironman premise should work well in the anime setting.

What’s not: With only 12 episodes, I’m sensing Ironman the anime series will deteriorate into some simple boss-beating and munchkin-farming. Let’s hope some more depth and developement are put in the characters.

3. K-On Season 2

Moe moe kyun~

Summary: Our favourite girls are back for a highly-demanded second season of moe, moe and more moe……. kyun~

What’s hot: If you’re a fanboy/girl you’re in luck. We can expect more slice-of-life shenanigans, and hopefully more live performances.

What’s not: If you didn’t like the first season, don’t even try to watch the second. K-On tends to divide viewers into those who absolutely love its simple charm, and those who vomit with disgust at Yui.

Entry filed under: Anime.

Can’t wait for Ironman. Saw the trailer and it looked pretty hectic.
